Bronze
What is Bronze?
An alloy consisting primarily of copper, commonly with about 12–12.5% tin and often with the addition of other metals and sometimes non-metals or metalloids such as arsenic, phosphorus or silicon.
C932 Bearing Bronze
C 932 Bearing Bronze is a high leaded tin-bronze and is our most popular bronze alloy. It is a general purpose bearing alloy possessing good anti-friction properties, ample strength and hardness, adequate ductility and excellent machinability.
Applications
Bearings, bushings, light duty gears and sprockets, impellers, wear strips, plates, automotive fittings and washers. It is used extensively in pumps, cylinders, machine tools, earth moving machinery and a myriad of general purpose applications.
Requirements
Common specifications for this grade:
- ASTM B505
- ASTM B271
- SAE 660

C954 Aluminum Bronze
C 954 Aluminum Bronze is the most popular of Aluminum Bronze alloys, providing high tensile and yield strength, good ductility, weldability and machinability, excellent resistance to wear, fatigue and deformation under shock and load. It exhibits excellent corrosion resistant properties. This alloy and most of the alloys in this family provide flexible mechanical properties with heat treatment and small additions of nickel.
Applications
Gears, worm wheels, bushings, bearings, wear strips, valve bodies, valve seats and valve guides in chemical, marine, aircraft, machine tools and earth moving machinery.
